Includes line and telephone pole installation, switchboards, offices, vehicles and garages, and employee facilities, including cafeteria and restrooms. Gas Traction Foundry was reorganized as the Northwestern Steel and Iron Corporation in the late 1910s or early 1920s. During this time period, the company occupied a square block, numbers 2907-2943 of an unidentified street in Minneapolis. It employed 150-200 workers and manufactured open-hearth steel castings, many of which are visible in these photographs.
