Gas Traction Foundry was reorganized as the Northwestern Steel and Iron Corporation in the late 1910s or early 1920s. During this time period, the company occupied a square block, numbers 2907-2943 of an unidentified street in Minneapolis. It employed 150-200 workers and manufactured open-hearth steel castings, many of which are visible in these photographs.
